ECR Semi full scale pilot 140kg/day copper

This semi full scale pilot operation can be used to perform the solvent extraction (SX) and electrowinnings steps (EW) of the ECR process for a production of 140kg/day of copper.

The setup consists of seven 20ft containers in which the process is performed. The leaching step, taking place prior to the SX and EW steps in the process, can be done using various different techniques.

The setup is designed to recover copper, zinc and nickel.

ECR pilot plant

The ECR-pilot is a re-locatable testing facility comprising one 20ft container and three skids. These skids are built up out of 6 columns where different residues and fractions can be tested. The testing facility is designed to recover copper, zinc and nickel by hydrometallurgical principles.

The testing facility can be installed, operated and demonstrated on-site.

Gravitational processes

Elemetal has the ability to perform tests and process waste streams through physical separation processes through partners and/or own equipment:

  • Wet / dry shaking tables
  • Humphrey spirals
  • Jigs
  • Froth flotation
  • Shredders
  • Sieving
  • Magnetic separation
  • Dewatering systems

Elemetal can perform the basic engineering, construction and procurement of total gravitational processes.

Lab facilities

Elemetal has several laboratory and pilot testing facilities available for different hydrometallurgical techniques. Using the labscale setups of Elemetal, fast test results can be obtained concerning the recovery of non-ferrous metals from secondary/waste streams. Elemetal can also construct new labscale and pilot scale setups for any unique customer requirement.

Labscale tests have so far shown to be very representative of the results from the larger pilot setups and can quickly give an indication of economic feasibility.
